The Spiderweb of Love (A Commentary)

Hagocimit already knew that I was kind of hesitant in reading
The Spiderweb of Love. Why? I avoid reading stories which have characters falling for his/her best friend. Yes... yes... best friends are the best people to fall in love with because (1) you him/her too well (2) you accept whatever you know about him/her (3) no matter how bad your best friend is, you're still friends with him/her. (You have no idea of how much I wanted to kill myself after saying this. T_T)
Anyway, back to the story.
The Spiderweb of Love, just like
Hagocimit said, is just a typical story. Being a bookworm and a fan fiction addict, I'd like to be honest and say that I've read this kind of plots a thousand times before. But I'd like to compare
Hagocimit to
Crystal Bowersox (from American Idol). Crystal sings someone else's song, changed it just enough to make it her own, and of course, making the people LOVE IT. That's exactly how I want to describe
Hagocimit. She thinks of an already-existing plot, tweaked it to make it her own, and making people LOVE IT. (Sorry for my weird analogy but I'm really a fan of American Idol and I want to pretend like I'm Ellen DeGeneres for the mean time.Kidding.)
What I love about
The Spiderweb of Love is that it made us readers think. Starting from Jiyong's sudden "death" a lot of questions were raised. And of course, everything was answered in the latter chapters.
What
Hagocimit revealed was rather shocking. Even for a bookworm and a fan fiction addict like me, I didn't expect that kind of twist (which showed that she could really be unpredictable sometimes.)
And yes, she was right when she said that she wanted to some of the harsh realities of life. Yup, this might be a fan fiction, but it kind of freaks me out of how "realistic" it is. (See, this why I was hesitating to read is. I just hope this doesn't happen to me.T_T)
The ending reminds of
Nicholas Spark's novel,
The Wedding. (I just had to include that, I'm a Nicholas Sparks fan and I read all his books.) I cried in the novel and I read it for several times. But when I read last chapter of
The Spiderweb of Love, I still cried. Like I said earlier,
Hagocimit had a way of making an already existing plot different.
Despite the fact that there were a lot of typos, this fan fiction still deserves to be praised. Everything I wrote here is just my opinion, so you read
The Spiderweb of Love on your own.
Rating: 4.5 stars.
